Binders and Spiral Notebooks For Reading Intervention- A Literature & Writing project in Texas

Dear Grant Me The Wisdom Foundation,
Thank you so much for your generous donations for my classroom. My students were so excited when they walked in the room and saw that they each had their very own brand new binder! I was able to put their folders, papers and their new spiral notebooks in each of their binders enabling them to be so much more organized and to have their materials right where they need them. My students were also thrilled to see their brand new spiral notebooks! All year they have been using journals that I put together using notebook paper and a construction paper cover. They were so excited to have real journals to write in! It means so much to me and my students that people like you are willing to help. It shows my students that there are people out there who believe in them and who care about their success. It really motivates them to work harder!
With gratitude,
Mrs. Hargrave

Literature Library for Low Income Bilingual Students

Dear Grant Me The Wisdom Foundation,

Its been some time now that my students received the books you helped purchase and they couldn’t be more excited to have timeless classics available to them. As soon as they heard that you were so kind as to support children such as themselves they began to understand that there are generous people out in the world.
As soon as the books arrived the students raced towards them and thus began a mad rush to get to choose the book they wanted. I had to develop a system in order to give everyone an opportunity to read the book they desired. I have a great deal of students who read those classics religiously and also provide me with a summary and response to questions at the end of the novel which helps me to make sure they comprehend what they read.
The students thank you for making a difference in their lives and will soon be writing in their own words.
With gratitude,
Mr. Torres

Literature Library for Low Income Bilingual Students

Dear Grant Me The Wisdom Foundation,

Thank you again so much for supporting my Kindergarten class! We are learning so much from the stories you helped our classroom purchase. My students love their new leveled library! They enjoy getting to go to their level and pick a story they are confident in reading. They have the chance to explore through the other levels to see what those books look like as well. Our leveled library gets used multiple times through out the day. It is its own work station during the day and when we read on our own they can choose a book from their level. The love knowing exactly where they can find a story they are wanting to read. The Lumberjacks also enjoy getting to show their friends stories they have read and telling them about it.Thank you again! 🙂
With gratitude,
Ms. Harry

 Workstation Wonderland!

Dear Grant Me The Wisdom Foundation,

Thank you very much for your kindness and generosity in giving to our classroom project. It is so hard to provide the students with quality materials that will enhance their learning. My students were thrilled when we received our workstation materials. Before the materials arrived we were unable to participate in quality learning during workstation time due to the limitations of not having the right resources. Now, workstation time is the students’ favorite time of the day and they are learning while having fun.The materials have been introduced to the students. We have worked together to learn how to properly use and care for them. We have multiple workstations which include the ABC/Word Work Station, Writing Workstation, Nonfiction (Science and Social Studies) Workstation, Pocket Chart Workstation, Read and Write the Room Workstation, Handwriting Workstation, Computer Workstation, Drama Workstation, Classroom Library Workstation, Audio Books Workstation, and Buddy Reading Workstation. Every day the students put all of the materials to good use and are learning more and more each day.Running and maintaining workstations for a class of 24 ESL students takes a lot of work, time and materials. Workstations are a valuable time in the classroom because it allows the students to work in pairs and utilize their individualized creativity in a learning focused environment. While the students are busy working away in their stations I am able to pull small groups of students to give them the individualize assistance they need on a daily basis. This time is what will make the difference in achieving academic success for all.

With gratitude,
Ms. Martin
